Here are some tips and information that will help us make your photo shoot a huge success!
* please arrive on time!! I will check in with you the day before our shoot to confirm the place and time that we will be meeting. Please make every effort to arrive a few minutes before our meeting time. If you are even a few minutes late, it will cut into your precious portrait taking time.
HAIR: Please make sure your hair is clean and styled neatly before the shoot. Also, please bring along a comb or brush to help restyle it if necessary. If you color your hair, make sure that your roots do not show. Refresh color a few days before your shoot.
MAKE-UP: If you usually wear make-up, it is a good idea to apply just a little more than normal. This shows up well in the photos. Make sure to apply evenly and neatly. Lip color is great, but if you don't usually wear lip color, make sure to use lip balm and bring some with you. Dry lips are very obvious in photos and are very difficult to cover up with editing. If you would like to use a make up artist before your session, I can refer you to an awesome one!
Clothing: Choose clothing/outfits that you feel good in. If you are including more than one outfit, it's always nice to have one casual outfit (jeans always look great) and one dressier outfit. Colors are great, but avoid busy patterns, as they detract from the most important focus of the portrait- you!
Families: It's not necessary to all match. Instead, coordinated outfits photograph well. See examples in my "Families" tab.
Nails: If you wear polish on your fingers or toes, please make sure they are freshly manicured. Chipped polish does not photograph well and distracts from the beauty of the portrait.
***Payment is due at the beginning of our session. After our session is complete, it will take me approximately 2 weeks to edit and complete your portraits. As soon as they are ready for you to view, I will post them to a secure password protected gallery. At that time, I will contact you to view them and choose which images you would like to include in your package. I will then release the chosen images for high resolution download for you. If you would like to order prints from me, you can also do that at this time as well. If at this point, you would like further editing, it will be subject to a $50 per hour fee.
***I often like to feature my clients' portraits on my photography Facebook page and/or my website. If you would prefer that I NOT post any of your pictures , please let me know this at the time of our portrait session.
